We will be opening up as many as 15 roster spots for fit, hard-working Ultimate players (of any experience level) with an appetite for fun and improving our regional ranking. We practice strategy and scrimmaging on Sunday afternoons from May through September, and one weeknight we gather and work on disc skills, fitness, speed, and agility. We also enjoy our social gatherings on a weekly basis! Try-outs will be May 2, 9, and 23 from 4-7pm at the Reflecting Pool fields. MEN'S OPEN TEAMS

Eastern Motors FB

Eastern Motors (EMFB) is coming back for more. We're an open club team based in Washington D.C that is coming off a very successful second season in 2009. We're preparing for our run at the 2010 UPA club series and we're looking for recruits.

Formed late in the game in 2008, the team had a successful run in the Capital Section and the Mid-Atlantic Region in 2008. In 2009, EMFB took huge steps and finished third in the section. We're looking for more. We want talented players in the D.C area who want to be part of team that is ready to play hard and that will continue to grow.

COED TEAMS

Slug Line

Announcing DC Elite Mixed Ultimate Tryouts! We are excited to announce tryouts for an elite DC based mixed team. Some of the faces maybe familiar but the game has changed! After finishing 5/6 at regionals the last two years as BRDM we are looking to push ourselves and our teammates to the next level with something new, something different, something more. That means Nationals. Our goal is to build a team of energetic, exciting, and fun men and women who don't say "If it happens that's great" but rather "What's it gonna take?" At the same time we want to foster and build a sense of community and fun both within the team and between us and the greater DC metro ultimate playing community. The first weekend of tryouts has come and gone and excitement is in the air. Sunday we ran our first open tryout and had a great turnout of over 60 talented and fun ultimate players all intent on playing hard, winning, and being involved in pushing the team to Nationals. With such a tremendous response the schedule is being altered slightly to accommodate as many folks as possible and assemble the best team possible. We are looking for folks that want more out of DC mixed ultimate and are not only great players but great teammates and great people as well. Sunday, May 9th, there will be mixed pickup on the Polo Fields from 11am - 2pm. Anyone and everyone is welcome to attend but this will be just pickup. With Mother's Day, weddings, prior plans, etc. its important to give everyone a chance to do other things as we ramp up for the rest of the Spring. The weekend of May 15 and 16 we'll be taking two teams to Bell Crack in Philadelphia. Anyone interested in playing this year is encouraged to go. This is an open tryout tournament for anyone! Please contact Rich Dana if you are interested in attending. On May 23rd a second tryout will be held (again from 11am - 2pm) that everyone interested in the team is welcome to participate in. Everyone in encouraged to attend regardless of intentions, commitment, or attendance at previous events. Memorial Day weekend is next and we will try to do a combined pickup/social event. Planning for this is still in the works. Keep an eye out for more information or get on our email list to have it sent directly to you. We will then attend Easterns in Boston the weekend of June 5 and 6. Again this is tournament that all are welcome to attend. However, because we can only take one team we will give some priority in playing time to folks that didn't get to attend Bell Crack. However, we would love to have anyone join us. We have a free housing option available to us only 20 minutes away so don't worry too much about expenses. This is an open tryout tournament for everyone! After Easterns a round of cuts will be made. We will then hold an invite only tryout the weekend of June 12 and 13. Most of our final cuts will be made after this invite event. If you have questions, concerns, or just want clarification feel free to email Rich Dana. This is going to be a great season with a great group of folks. Bring your "A" game cause everyone else is. See you on the field, Rich Dana Captain.

CASUAL ENCOUNTERS (click here for full information)

Casual Encounters is a third-year mixed team out of Washington, D.C. Our tryout period for the 2010 season is over. If you are interested in more information on the team, would like to be put on the mailing list for next year's tryout announcement, or would just like to contact the captains, please send an email to casualcaptains@gmail.com.

Orange JOOSE

We can rebuild it. We have the technology. We can make it better than it was before. Better, stronger, faster...drunker. Like the $6 Million Dollar Man with a hangover, Orange JOOSE is back for round two and is ready to rage, both on the field and at the party. After making Regionals our first year out of the gate while still winning every party in our bionic line of sight, Orange JOOSE is raising the stakes for the sequel, "Season 2: Enter the Dragon JOOSE". With a strong core of returning players coming back, plus the addition of elite club players from around the region, this year promises even more layout D's, more questionably appropriate cheers, and more fun with a great group of girls and guys. If you're looking to play competitive ultimate, make a few friends and test your liver's breaking point, then look no further because Orange JOOSE is where you want to be. When it comes to choosing between playing hard and partying hard, we refuse to compromise - we do both. This year Orange JOOSE will be winning more games AND winning more parties. If that's something you can get down with, email us at:

orangejooseultimate@gmail.com

Tryout dates will be Saturday April 24th and Saturday May 8th at 2:00pm at the Reflecting Pool fields (between the Korean War Memorial and -duh- the Reflecting Pool). There will NO LONGER be tryouts May 1st, to accommodate those going to College Regionals. We will be submitting a bid to Bell Crack in Philly as our tryout tournament the weekend of May 15th-16th. Please email us if you intend to come to tryouts, but if you forget to email, come anyway. You can also stay up to date at http://www.jooseultimate.com .

THE HUSTLERS

Who are the Hustlers? Composed of players from Baltimore and DC, we are entering our fourth season as a competitive coed ultimate team. As we practice and play together this season, our goal is to win games, become one of the top mixed teams in the region, and to be known for tough, spirited play. If you are committed to play in weekly practices, and 3-4 tournaments this summer with a talented, spirited team on the field and an awesome group of people off of the field, please join us.

 Live'r Die

Live'r Die is a Washington D.C area mixed team going into its second year.  In our first club season together, we lost a tight game in the game to go to regionals.  We are excited to build on this momentum this year and expect to make a run at regionals with a full summer of practicing together and adding some new talent to round out our roster.  We are looking for fun, experienced players, both male and female, who are looking to improve individually and work hard to get better as a team.  We are holding open practices beginning April 10th at 10am (Bluemont Park) and plan to attend Henlopen the following weekend.  We encourage all interested players to come out.  For more info or questions contact liverdieultimate@gmail.com .  See you on the fields!

G.R.O.S.S.

G.R.O.S.S. (Get Rid Of Slimy girlS) has started its second season, and while being a new club team, we've all been playing in the DC area for quite some time. We're looking for some fresh new recruits to build on our core group of players who already have multiple years of competitive experience. The commitment level is moderate: practice once a week with twice weekly independent track and core workouts.  Focus is on team development through perfecting personal skill. We will be attending several tournaments (probably 4-5) throughout the summer, sectionals and hopefully regionals.  Practices are currently Sunday mornings at 10:30 at the Polo Fields.  Practice is mandatory if you are interested in competing with the team, although we understand that work is a priority for everyone (even if we wish ultimate could be more of one).

If you're interested in coming out, please email the captains at GROSS[dot]ultimate[at]gmail[dot]com!

Renegade - a New Competitive DC Mixed Team!

Who We Are:

Renegade is composed of high level club players whose goal is to finish at the top of our section and region to earn a spot at Nationals while looking and feeling damn good doing it. We value intensity of play while demonstrating respect for our teammates and opponents on and off the field. We have an established core of seasoned vets and are seeking additional high level, spirited, and fun male and female players to complete our roster.

 Tryouts (updated 7/12/10):

Tryouts are now closed. The men's roster is full, but a limited number of spots are still open on the women's roster. If you're a female club player seeking a competitive team for the 2010 fall series, please email us at renegadeultimate AT gmail DOT com for tryout details.
